RUTH NAMENDJI MARTINEZ LAGO

Co-Owner  -  Iyalago Food  Assurance Consultants

 

 

Ruth is a Managing member and consultant with plus twelve (+12) years’ experience in quality assurance and food safety in the fishing industry.  Ruth holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences from the University of Namibia.  Ruth has successfully completed CQI/ IRCA Lead Auditor training in FSSC 22000.  She has extensive experience in Canning principles with expertise obtained from successfully completing various Canning, Thermal Processing Courses, production and inspection of Canned products.

 

Prior to co-founding Iyalago Food Assurance Consulting, Ruth worked for Namibian Standards Institution (NSI) at the Fisheries Inspectorate as a Food Inspector and then later as Senior Food Inspector in the same Institution. It is with NSI that Ruth acquired knowledge of food industry regulations and standards as well as their interpretation.  Thereafter, she worked for United Fishing Enterprises as a Quality Manager where she gained 4 years’ experience at senior management level and as Food safety leader successfully steered the organisation to FSSC 22000 certification.

 

She has successfully steered some of our biggest projects in Morocco, Thailand and Argentina where she assisted processing facilities with new product development (canned fish) through process optimization, production process and designed their product specifications and correlated standard operation procedures.

 

As a co-owner of Iyalago Food Assurance Consultants she is responsible for designing training material, training, HACCP systems implementation, reviews, canned product inspections, product label evaluation, new product development with process oversite, vessel and factory inspections, GFSI Systems auditing and assistance in their implementation.

 

Her expertise lies in product research and  development, design of training programs and thermal processing

 

 

VERA NELAGO IIYAMBO

Co-Owner -  Iyalago Food  Assurance Consultants

 

 

Vera is a Managing member and Consultant with plus thirteen (+13) years’ experience in the quality assurance and food safety in the fishing industry. Vera is a University of Namibia graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences.

 

Vera’s has extensive knowledge on the design and implementation of Quality Management Systems which was obtained from intensive International Leadership Training and Quality Management Courses at TÜV Rheinland University in Germany.

 

Prior to co-founding Iyalago Food Assurance Consultants, she worked for NovaNam Group of Companies based in Luderitz for 3 years as a Quality System Administrator before transferring to Deep Ocean Processors in Walvis Bay as Quality Head of Department. Within a year, she took on the responsibility of Quality Manager. After leaving NovaNam, she went on to work for United Fishing Enterprises as Quality Assurance Coordinator where she honed her practical skills in leading organisations in implementing and maintaining both IFS and FSSC 22000 food safety certifications.

 

Her expertise lies in product sampling and testing, Hygiene audits, design of documentation and improving food safety systems and statistical analysis.

 

As a co-owner of Iyalago Food Assurance Consultants she is responsible for training, canned product inspections, product label evaluation, vessel and factory inspections, GFSI Systems auditing and assistance in their implementation and HACCP systems implementation, and reviews.
